Senior accountant

Dredging International Egypt, a multinational maritime engineering company, is looking for a Senior GL Accountant in Cairo.As a Senior GL Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance department by maintaining financial records with attention to detail and accuracy.If you are a motivated individual with a passion for numbers and you have a desire to grow your career in accounting, Dredging International Egypt offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where you can develop your skills and contribute to the success of our organization.Your responsibilitiesProvide quarterly financial statements -> balance sheets and income statements;Lead the closing process, ensure all transactions are recorded accurately;Prepare monthly reports and variance analysis of PL expense accounts;Oversee that all incoming & outgoing invoices are registered correctly;Verify that electronic invoices align with company’s internal records;Supervise timely payment of invoices and tax claims;Monitor daily cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs;Make sure that bank accounts are reconciled regularly and manage discrepancies;Prepare, review, approve and/or post journal entries;Responsible for netting of intercompany transactions with CA HQ;Confirm accounts reconciliations with related parties;Reconcile processed work done by verifying entries with BS balances;Make sure accounting records and back-up data are appropriate for tax purposes;Ensure company accounting guidelines are carried out according to compliance;Maintain general ledger chart of accounts and communicate changes with users;Research accounting issues and determine proper handling of transactions;Carry out annual audit, prepare YE financial statements;Assist in tax inspections and other pending tax issues;Review periodical tax declarations (local and offshore WHT + VAT).Oversee the work of junior accountants and assist when needed.Your profileUniversity degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.7 years' experience in an accounting or finance role is a must.Excellent skills in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.Good verbal and written communication skills in English.Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Proactive and self-motivated attitude with willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.Integrity and commitment to maintain confidentiality in handling financial information.Our offerAn extensive mobility program for a healthy work-life balance.A permanent training track which allows you to develop yourself personally and professionally.A stimulating, innovative workplace with numerous growth opportunities.A people-oriented environment with an interactive health program and a focus on employee wellbeing.
