Job Opening: Senior Accountant– Laith Al Obaidi GroupLocation: [Iraq/Baghdad] Industry: Automotive / Cars Trading Position Type: Full-TimeJob SummaryLaith Al Obaidi Group is a leading name in the automotive and trading industry, The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and preparing accurate financial statements and reports. This role supervises the accounting team and supports financial planning and audits across the group.Key Responsibilities:Supervise daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Ensure timely and accurate closing of accounts and submission of financial statements.Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow activities.Monitor and enforce internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial records.Ensure compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations.Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.Guide and train junior accountants and finance staff.Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems and processes.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s is a plus).CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.High attention to detail and accuracy.Fluent in English and Arabic.What We Offer:Competitive salary based on experienceOpportunity to work in a leading automotive groupProfessional and growth-oriented environment
