Senior Accountant The RolePreparing and reviewing Management Accounts, with a strong focus on analysing gross margin variances and developing action plans to improve profitability and reduce costsAssessing, strengthening and implementing internal controlsOverseeing working capital management to support operational efficiencyDelivering a full financial controller service, including accurate reporting, financial guidance and strategic recommendationsLeading and supporting a finance team, including supervision, delegation and staff developmentResponsibilities: A recognised professional accountancy qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with 5+ years’ post-qualification experienceBroad experience in accounts preparation and management reportingConfidence in presenting financial analysis to clients and advising on operational or financial improvementsExceptional attention to detail and strong analytical capabilitySolid IT proficiency, particularly with accounting systems and ExcelThe ability to train and supervise staff effectivelyStrong organisational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and use initiativeSector experience in retail is beneficial but not essentialImmediate availability is an advantage but not requiredQualificationsA relevant third-level degreeA recognised professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or ACA)Previous experience in a similar management accounting role, ideally within a retail-focused environment, is advantageous. However, full sector-specific training will be provided.
