Project Worker, Family Services, Mid West (Childers Road Family Initiative)Location: LimerickContract: Full time, 1 Year Fixed Term As a member of the Childers Road Family Initiative team, you will provide tailored support to families within the service, using a Key Working system to identify needs and deliver appropriate interventions that promote independent living. The role involves close collaboration with the Limerick Homeless Action Team to advocate for sustainable housing solutions, and partnership with the Child Support Worker to reduce the impact of homelessness on children and families.What You Will DoWork within the framework of Focus Ireland’s objectives, policies, and procedures, under the supervision of the Manager and Assistant Project Leader.Act as Key Worker for a number of families in the Childers Road Family Initiative (CRFI), addressing identified needs such as bereavement, addiction, relationships, self-esteem, homemaking, and move-on options.Liaise with external agencies and make referrals to ensure appropriate supports for residents and promote independent living.Maintain accurate records and provide written reports in line with Focus Ireland policy, including use of database systems.Ensure residents maintain their apartments to a reasonable standard and fulfill responsibilities for reporting repairs and maintenance.Collaborate effectively with other divisions and project staff across Focus Ireland to support service delivery and organisational procedures.Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and engage in regular supervision with the agreed supervisor.Work independently (‘lone work’) with individuals and families in the community, including home visits, adhering to Lone Working policy and safety guidelines.Participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with your Manager.Contribute to organisational objectives by supporting policy development and maintaining strong inter-agency relationships.What You Will NeedA third level qualification in the area of social care i.e. youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology etcProven extensive experience working in a social care settingExperience of working as part of a team.Experience of working in housing or homelessnessUnderstanding of basic issues re: homelessness.Advocacy and liaising with other agencies.Good communication skills.Ability to cope with and manage Lone Working.Full driver’s license with access to car.Experience of professional supervision.
