We are a remote first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, and we are solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today.The Position:The Senior Accounting Manager will help scale and strengthen GameChanger's accounting function. You will lead monthly and quarterly close processes, partner with FP&A to support budgeting and forecasting, and lead improvements across reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting systems. You will also implement internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and DICK'S Sporting Goods requirements. As part of this role, you'll provide mentorship and daily guidance to members of the accounting team while building scalable processes to support a high-growth technology business. You will report to the Director of Finance & Corporate Development.What You'll Do:Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results in accordance with GAAP and Company policyManage balance sheet reconciliations and lead cleanup of existing accounts and reporting processesEstablish and implement internal controls, approval processes to support scaling operations and compliance with DICK'S Sporting Goods requirementsApprove journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirementsCollaborate with Finance and Company business partners to understand and forecast variances to budget. Identify future financial risks or opportunities and communicate to Finance leadershipAssist with preparation and execution of annual budgets (P&L and Balance Sheet)Support audits and compliance processes, preparing documentation and leading communication with DICK'S Sporting Goods and external auditors where applicableLaunch new ideas and innovate with confidence. Implement automation and other process improvement activities related to team's responsibilitiesResponsible for managing, developing and directing Accounting teammates. Develop critical skillsets across the team; provide ongoing developmental feedback and opportunities for growthWho You Are:7+ years of progressive accounting experience within startups or high-growth environments, ideally in a SaaS or software businessBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferredExpertise in U.S. GAAP with hands-on experience leading monthly and quarterly close processes and preparing financial statementsBackground in establishing internal controls, including journal entry approvals, reconciliations, and audit readinessExperience supporting external audits and collaborating with parent companies or external team members on compliance requirementsAdvanced proficiency with NetSuite (required) and Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas)Experience maintaining balance sheet reconciliations in a scaling environmentPeople management experience mentoring and developing accounting staffPerks:Work remotely throughout the US* or from our well-furnished, modern office in Manhattan, NY. This is part of a total compensation package that includes incentive, equity, and benefits for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We constantly review all teammate pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board.
