Lead and manage the design, scope and delivery of specialist Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EI&C) engineering-related capital works projects across one of NZ’s leading industrial sitesDevelop key site client relationships with project teams and contractors, while mentoring and growing Beca’s on-site specialist project engineersApply your international steel industry experience and ability working on-site as part of a close-knit site team focused on project delivery excellence for our clients, as well as your personal and professional development, making every day betterTe whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityIn this Senior Associate EI&C Engineer role, you will strengthen and partner with Beca’s on-site team to manage our project delivery service offering with the New Zealand Steel, Glenbrook-based team. You will have plenty of scope to work with the Manager to grow and develop Beca’s specialist teams. Together, you will be part of a close-knit team delivering capital projects from scoping through to design, procurement, install/construction and commissioning. By working on site, you will see daily the impact from these projects and how they add value to the operation of one of NZ’s largest and most complex industrial sites.You will be part of the New Zealand Steel Engineering Services team, supported by the depth of expertise and experience from the Beca Industrial business. You will work on a variety of projects across different plants around the site, varying in budget and complexity.You will be applying your EI&C expertise and experience across High Voltage (HV) requirements (experience in this area is essential), as well as working across low voltage power system design, distributing power, hazardous areas, automation (PLC and SCADA), instrumentation and machinery safety (experience in one or more of these areas will be advantageous).Each day will present a new challenge. Key parts of this role include:Execute capital projects in all stages, from design through to construction and commissioningParticipate in a mix of job delivery, project justification reports, work planning and financial management together with client relationship managementProvide client leadership and technical direction on a range of projectsBe a leader, mentor and coach to our Electrical teamNetwork, develop and grow relationships with clients and the Beca team within the industrial businessTap into Beca’s technical specialist and multidisciplinary workforce, as well as apply your own expertise to develop the best solution for the clientBeing based on site at NZ Steel in Glenbrook, South Auckland means you will be applying your relationship-building abilities and industry experience, working with site teams with deep knowledge and expertise on the operations across the site.
