We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our growing Purchasing Team!Job Description: As the Senior Buyer at Mucci Farms, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of direct (packaging e.g. Corrugate, resin, bags, labels, and film) and indirect materials (e.g. MRO, Services, and Capex). This role ensures cost-effective and timely purchasing while maintaining quality standards and supplier relationships.Responsibilities Include: Support Mucci Farms operations in Canada, US, and Mexico overseeing Direct and or Indirect procurement, spend and purchasing, which will include packaging, MRO, services and CapexUse expertise in Contract Management best practices to secure the highest value over a Contract LifecycleDevelop and maintain strategic sourcing documents and acquire in-depth subject matter expertise and market intelligence for the categoryCreate RFQs, search for suppliers, and issue BIDs to secure optimal cost benefits for the organizationMonitor inventory levels of assigned commodities to maintain balanced stock and improve turns by analyzing incoming goods against forecasted demand and setting appropriate re-order points in the systemEnsure timely, accurate entry and confirmation of purchase orders to support assigned dutiesCreate and provide reports to the Purchasing and Inventory Manager on a regular basisAbility to independently and confidently coordinate highly complex multi-functional strategiesManage, develop, and nurture supplier relationships to maximize long-term Total Cost of Ownership and minimize business riskApply experience to identify problems and find creative solutions to meet customer demandsDuties will be assigned as required by the department manager and may vary depending on experience as well as production seasonality Qualifications:Post-secondary Business diploma or degree or related field is preferred2+ years of experience in a Purchasing/Buyer role is requiredPrevious experience in the food or CPG industry is highly desirablePrevious experience purchasing packaging is preferredPrevious experience coaching and mentoring junior buyers would be an assetProven ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliersStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Windows and ERP softwareAbility to influence and lead others that are not direct reportsAbility to communicate in a clear and concise manner with staff and Grower members to ensure the daily supplies of all packaging related materialsProven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and change priorities with the businessProven ability to multi-task and meet customer deadlinesRelocation is availablePhysical Abilities: Large majority of your day will be spent in the officeMust be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of timeMust be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legsMust be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of timeJob Requirements: The incumbent will be committed to customer service excellence and leading by example.
