Our Client:A leading global engineering and technology solutions provider specializing in high-precision manufacturing for industries such as semiconductors, industrial automation, medical technology, and analytical instruments. The company is recognized for its strong engineering capabilities, advanced manufacturing systems, and integrated supply chain management across multiple global sites.Role Overview:The Senior Buyer will oversee and manage day-to-day purchasing operations to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and components that support production and customer delivery schedules. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong experience in purchasing operations within a semiconductor or EMS/contract manufacturing environment, capable of driving efficiency, accuracy, and supplier performance while ensuring material readiness for high-mix, low-volume production.Key Responsibilities:Manage daily purchasing activities including issuing purchase orders, monitoring order confirmations, and following up with suppliers to ensure on-time material delivery.Coordinate closely with planning, warehouse, and production teams to ensure materials availability aligns with manufacturing schedules and customer demands.Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, and responsiveness, and work with them to resolve issues such as delays, shortages, or non-conformances.Execute purchase requisitions in compliance with company policies, approved supplier lists, and pricing agreements.Review and validate purchase order details including part numbers, pricing, quantities, and lead times to ensure data accuracy and compliance with ERP systems.Maintain up-to-date records of open orders, supplier communications, and delivery schedules to provide visibility to internal stakeholders.Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for bulk purchasing, consolidation, or alternate sourcing in collaboration with the procurement team.Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies, goods receipt issues, and other transactional challenges to ensure smooth operations between purchasing and finance.Participate in internal meetings to communicate material status, supply risks, and recovery plans for delayed deliveries.Provide guidance and support to junior buyers or new team members to ensure consistency and adherence to operational procedures.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in purchasing or materials management within semiconductor, EMS, or contract manufacturing industries.Strong understanding of purchasing processes, ERP/MRP systems, and supplier coordination in a fast-paced production environment.Proven ability to handle large volumes of purchase orders and multiple commodity categories effectively.Excellent communication and follow-up skills to manage both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive with strong problem-solving and coordination capabilities.Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing setup will be an added advantage.Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
