Your contributionIn this role you will work within a multidisciplinary team and provide high quality, culturally appropriate, child protection services to children and families serviced by the Child Safety Service Centre. You will also support colleagues and management in their service delivery through the provision of appropriate advice and information, particularly in regard to resource availability and ensuring culturally appropriate service delivery.Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Child Safety Support Officer you will:Ensure that service delivery is consistent with departmental policies and procedures, as well as current trends and departmental objectives.Provide culturally appropriate prevention, early intervention, and family support strategies to children and families including referral, provision of information, advocacy and consultation.Design, implement and maintain appropriate casework and individualised service plans.Liaise and develop links with relevant stakeholders including families, community agencies and relevant Government agencies.Participate effectively as a team member in a multidisciplinary team.Develop and maintain knowledge relevant to the role, and actively participate in appropriate learning and development processes.Provide comprehensive advice on casework matters to support decision making by colleagues and management, and feedback to internal stakeholders regarding the appropriateness of policies and programs to service delivery requirements.Prepare reports within specified timeframes and maintain accurate case files.Enhance the local regional community by actively practicing and promoting excellence in service delivery and public administration and identifying opportunities for improving regional client service.Your Mandatory RequirementsIt is mandatory for Senior Child Safety Support Officer applicants to undergo criminal history screening under the blue card system administered by the Queensland Public Safety Business Agency.Ability to undertake travel and possession of a current ‘C' Class drivers licence.How You'll Be AssessedThe department is seeking to identify the most suitable person for this position.
