Job Description

on leads investigations into complaints of illegal dumping; prepares reports on compliance and enforcement activity outcomes; and liaises with senior compliance officers in local government and other relevant organisations in relation to compliance programs and activities. The role also contributes to training and other proactive initiatives to achieve improved compliance designed to reduce the impact of illegal dumping and littering in Queensland.As The Senior Compliance And Enforcement Officer, You WillLead investigations into reports of illegal dumping, littering and unsolicited advertising materials and engage with other relevant authorities (e.g. local councils) through the investigation process as requiredLead field site inspections into littering and illegal dumping, taking responsibility for planning and conduct of the inspection, on-site safety, recording and storage of evidence, and directing the activities of Compliance and Enforcement Officers (i.e. LIDCO AO4s)Implement prosecution actions in consultation with other relevant departmental areasDevelop and maintain productive working relationships and networks with key inter-departmental and inter-government officers, local government, stakeholders and communityLead communications and education activities involving external stakeholder groups - this may include making presentations to seminars and training workshopsAssist in the development and design of communication and education packages/activities for external stakeholdersInitiate and implement internal business and improved compliance policy and processesContribute to the development and implementation of the Litter and Illegal Dumping Action Plan and other planning activitiesPrepare reports for management on enforcement and compliance activities and outcomesFoster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.Occupational group Administration
