Senior Counsel - Products, Commercial & Regulatory

We are working with a global payments provider, listed, and with significant operations in the APAC area. You will join an established (highly reputable) legal team, reporting into the Head of Legal and focused on both existing product development and new lines of revenue such as AI and blockchain.FocusProduct development & launch: 50%Regulatory / advisory: 30%Commercial deal flow: 20%Job DescriptionYou will partner and support key business units on product development, launch & distribution. This role will be primarily an advisory function to help business (product focused) teams manage complex commercial and regulatory landscapes across the APAC region. New products launched will face cross-border regulatory obstacles, and your role (with the help of in-country counsel / external vendors) will be to anticipate and predict ahead of time where resources should be allocated to overcome these challenges.You will work with colleagues in Singapore and across Asia to ensure sales and marketing are aligned with products and regulation.You will liaise and work with colleagues on global products / projects, many of which will crossover with the US and EMEA.Requirements6 - 12 PQEEducation and Law Firm credentials should be Tier 1Mixture of law firm and In-House experience preferredLegal skillsets can include Payments, Tech Regulation, AI, FSRSofter skills include: Ability to build rapport in short time frames, friendly, high standards on work output, driven but not aggressiveAbility to work with various cultural backgrounds in Asia and overseas - essentialSD Legal was established in 2018 and now with physical office locations across Europe and Asia.To date we have successfully closed over 150+ mandates across the globe, locations include the US, UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East and APAC regions.
