Job DescriptionCreate your best future and join the Westpac Group Reporting and Analytics (GR&A) Finance team as a Senior Data Analyst.Sydney location Hybrid role - 3 days in office requiredAmazing staff benefits on offer What’s the role?As part of the GR&A Regulatory Reporting Projects & Change team, you will be working with a diverse group of regulatory reporting, finance and technology professionals to deliver strong financial and regulatory control through the ongoing improvement of reporting processes and solutions; provide financial insights and advice to help our business leaders achieve business outcomes; and build and maintain strong relationships with our stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Performing data analysis, data modelling, data profiling of various large data sources in structured formats and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to address business challenges and manage competing stakeholder priorities and reporting requirements.Strong knowledge on SQL to develop and maintain current Business Rule Engine in Teradata to produce the desired regulatory reporting outcome based on stakeholder needs. Respond to ad-hoc queries and standard requests from internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing processes using available tools and technologies.What do I need?Extensive experience as a data analystStrong command of SQL and experience with data warehouses (preferable Teradata) essentialExperience wrangling and analysing data using Python and with Axiom, Business Objects or similar preferredExperience working in an Agile environment including use of JIRA, Confluence and GitHubPrior experience in working on data profiling and establishing data lineageA solid understanding of the Financial Services in particular EFS regulatory reporting requiredWhy join us?We’re obsessed with becoming our customers' #1 banking partner for life and we’re looking for people who are passionate about helping us achieve that goal.
