Senior Data Engineer

Primary Responsibilities: Primary ResponsibilitiesWork with the data engineering team focused on customer data management and big data solutions powering marketing analytics, personalization, and engagement across client brands.Collaborate with architecture, product management, DevOps, DataOps, marketing analytics, and business operations to define and execute a robust data product backlog and technical roadmap.Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of big data pipelines, data lakes, and Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) to support advanced marketing use cases such as segmentation and real-time personalization.Serve as technical lead on complex data engineering projects involving customer data integration, identity resolution, and data synchronization across internal and third-party platforms.Oversee data engineering practices, providing guidance through design/code reviews, architectural decisions, and secure, compliant data solutions.Mentor and guide teams in a data-driven environment, promoting excellence, collaboration, and customer-centric delivery.Core Competencies & Technical ExpertiseExperience: 7+ years of relevant big data engineering experience.Orchestration / Processing: Apache Airflow, Apache Spark.Cloud / AWS Services: S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR.Programming: Python (robust, modular, testable code).SQL: Expert-level proficiency for data modeling, transformation, and analysis.Data Warehousing: Snowflake, Redshift, star/snowflake schema design, performance tuning.Streaming / Real-Time: Kafka, event-based architectures.CI/CD: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for data applications and infrastructure.Customer Data Platforms / Martech: Exposure to CDPs or Marketing Tech Platforms.AI Solutions (Plus): Experience developing or supporting AI-powered solutions.Methodologies: Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), project management discipline.Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.Domain: Experience in Retail is a plus.
