The role requires a blend of technical acumen, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement, supported by extensive experience and the ability to maintain security clearance.Responsibilities Lead small project teams in the design and development of aerospace systems. Perform complex engineering calculations and simulations. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in design reviews and provide critical feedback. Lead the design and development of complex aerospace systems and components. Conduct in-depth engineering analysis and optimization. Prepare 3-D models, 2-D drawings and other related technical documentation. Coordinate with other departments to ensure project alignment. Oversee testing, validation, and certification processes.Competencies Advanced knowledge of aerospace engineering principles. Experience and proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (SolidWorks). Excellent problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking. High proficiency in technical writing and documentation. Extensive knowledge of aerospace design and manufacturing processes. Ability to produce 3-D model-based definition packages with Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T) notes and essential dimensions. Strong leadership and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement initiatives.RequirementsQualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. 5-9 years of relevant engineering experience. A current US Security Clearance to the level of SECRET. Experience and proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (SolidWorks preferred).
