Senior DevOps Engineer

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, and infrastructure automation to join our team on a contract basis. This role will focus on designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring solutions to enhance deployment efficiency and system reliability. If successful, this position has the potential to transition into a longer-term engagement.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for application and infrastructure deployments.Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate Azure resource provisioning.Develop and optimize monitoring and observability solutions using Datadog for cloud services and containerized environments.Automate operational workflows and system configurations using Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripts.Manage and optimize Docker-based containerized deployments across development and production environments.Ensure best practices in security, scalability, and reliability across cloud and on-prem infrastructures.Integrate security scanning and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., dependency scanning, SAST/DAST, IaC scanning).Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and improve automation workflows.Manage Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) for access control, authentication, and identity management.Monitor and maintain network configurations and SQL Server environments to ensure high performance and reliability.Document processes, workflows, and system architectures for scalability and knowledge sharing.Experience with Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).Required Skills & ExperienceProven hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repositories, and work item management).Strong expertise in Azure Cloud Services, including networking, security, and resource management.Experience with Datadog for monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management (ARM or Bicep experience is a plus).Advanced scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation and system management.Strong experience with Docker (builds, images, container orchestration, and deployments).Working knowledge of Azure AD, networking fundamentals, and SQL Server administration.Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience optimizing cloud cost management and performance tuning.Exposure to security automation and compliance in Azure environments.Why Join Us?Opportunity to work on a high-impact project with a chance for contract extension.A collaborative team that values innovation and efficiency.Competitive contract hour rate and the potential for long-term engagement.
