Job Description

You're the type of DevOps engineer who doesn't simply maintain uptime; you architect systems that eliminate downtime before it happens. If you find satisfaction in dissecting convoluted legacy infrastructure, engineering more efficient solutions, and automating every manual process you come across, this opportunity is for you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels in high-pressure environments where 99.9% availability is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products, each presenting unique challenges, as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while implementing monitoring and automation that genuinely prevents incidents. Most organizations ask you to support a single technology stack. We're asking you to merge and refine multiple stacks without causing disruptions. Where others distribute databases, we take a different approach, strategically consolidating them to maximize cost efficiency and operational manageability across our portfolio. This role isn't designed for someone content with watching over existing infrastructure; it's built for someone who encounters a disjointed, inconsistent landscape and immediately begins architecting a superior solution. You'll be responsible for everything from cloud migrations to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost management. This includes identifying and resolving system issues, planning and delivering frictionless cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI/ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of operational overhead. You'll possess genuine decision-making power over infrastructure choices—no prolonged waiting for sign-offs from stakeholders disconnected from the technical reality. If you're a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys untangling intricate systems and ensuring they operate seamlessly, this position will be your ideal environment. If you require constant guidance, become overwhelmed managing diverse technology stacks, or favor greenfield projects over creating structure from disorder, this role will not be a good fit. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure position with opportunities to build, refine, and automate at scale, submit your application today! What You Will Be DoingArchitecting and executing sophisticated infrastructure transformations, including migrations from legacy environments to AWS cloud platforms and lift-and-shift migration strategiesCreating and deploying comprehensive monitoring strategies and developing automation for monitoring systems, software deployment pipelines, and operational processesConducting system monitoring, backup operations, incident management, database migrations, database configuration, and cost reduction initiativesWhat You Won’t Be DoingSpending your time in Jira and interminable status meetings - we value professionals who deliver solutions, not simply document issuesSupporting legacy systems without end - you'll be authorized to implement substantive enhancementsWaiting on bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate remediation during incidentsOperating within restrictive technical specializations - this position demands both comprehensive knowledge and technical depthJustifying budget requests for essential infrastructure improvements - we recognize the strategic value of infrastructure investmentSenior DevOps Engineer Key ResponsibilitiesDrive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.Basic RequirementsDeep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript for building automation and toolingExperience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)Advanced Docker/Kubernetes skillsExperience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)Linux systems administration expertiseAbout TrilogyHundreds of software businesses run on the Trilogy Business Platform.
