We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in renewable energy systems, solar PV, BESS, and medium voltage (MV) grid connections to join our growing energy engineering team.. The ideal candidate brings proven expertise in solar power system design, MV/HV network integration, and grid compliance, with a demonstrated ability to lead design teams, interface with clients and contractors, and ensure successful project delivery. Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and advanced electrical design tools is a strong advantage. Job Description Here is what you will do: Technical Leadership & Renewable Electrical Design Lead the electrical design of utility-scale solar PV and hybrid renewable systems, including MV distribution up to 66kV. Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing, inverter station layouts, substation and switchyard designs. Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, ENA, DNO/TSO requirements, and national grid connection codes. Define and implement technical design strategies that meet safety, efficiency, and sustainability objectives. Solar & Battery Systems Expertise Design and integrate solar PV arrays, inverters, transformers, RMUs, and BESS systems into existing grid networks. Evaluate and optimize PV yield, losses, and equipment selection using simulation tools (PVsyst, ETAP, etc.). Develop protection and grounding systems, ensuring safe operation and arc flash mitigation. Advise clients on renewable connection strategies, grid code compliance, and interconnection requirements. Lead coordination meetings, ensure clash-free models, and promote integration with civil and structural teams. Support digital workflows using CDE platforms (BIM 360, ACC, Aconex) and model-based collaboration for efficient project delivery. Project & Client Management Act as the technical lead for electrical engineering scopes on large renewable projects. Coordinate with developers, EPC contractors, utilities, and independent engineers during project development and execution. Support project managers in budgeting, scheduling, risk assessment, and design deliverable management. Prepare technical documentation, feasibility reports, and participate in client design reviews. Construction & Commissioning Support Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning stages. Review contractor documentation, respond to RFIs, and verify electrical installations and testing procedures. Mentor and guide junior engineers to enhance their knowledge of renewable design and installation practices. Qualifications Here’s what we’re looking for: Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field). 8+ years of experience in electrical design for renewable energy or utility-scale power projects. Proven track record in solar PV, MV distribution, substations, and grid connection design. Hands-on understanding of utility standards, protection schemes, grounding, and electrical safety regulations. Proficiency in AutoCAD, electrical design tools, and BIM workflows. Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination. Preferred: Experience with PVsyst, ETAP, DigSILENT PowerFactory, or similar analysis tools. Field experience in solar/BESS installation, commissioning, or operations. Exposure to energy storage systems, hybrid microgrids, and HV grid interconnections. Familiarity with international renewable standards (IEC, ENA, G99/G100) and interconnection processes. Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and drive a culture of technical excellence.
