Successful candidates may be offered a fully funded Australian onshore training opportunity.The Senior Estimator & Team Leader is responsible for preparing and managing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities while providing cost advice and value management across Nexgenus’s project portfolio. In addition to performing complex estimating tasks, this role leads the estimating team — mentoring junior and offshore estimators, allocating workloads, and ensuring consistent, high-quality outputs that support project delivery, financial control, and business growth.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Cost Planning• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare BOQs using estimation software and manual methods.• Develop cost plans, budgets, and tender submissions in line with project requirements.• Analyse drawings, specifications, and contracts to prepare accurate scopes of work.• Source, review, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, preparing comparison schedules.• Develop relationships with key suppliers and sub-contractors• Provide cost advice for sales estimates and complex project feasibility.• Monitor budgets against actual project costs and report variances to management.Team Leadership & Management• Lead, supervise, and mentor junior estimators and offshore estimating staff.• Allocate tasks and ensure that estimated deliverables are accurate and completed on time.• Develop training manuals, work instructions, and process guides to upskill team members.• Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews, supporting professional growth.• Foster a collaborative team culture aligned with Nexgenus’s values and ISO requirements.Technical Analysis & Support• Review tender and construction drawings to identify discrepancies and risks.• Support preparation of RFIs and assist with contract administration for pricing changes.• Provide value engineering recommendations to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.• Work closely with Project Managers, Procurement, and Construction teams to align estimates with project execution.Continuous Improvement & Compliance• Contribute to the development of estimating procedures, templates, and BMS documentation.• Identify process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.• Ensure all estimating practices comply with ISO, OH&S, and company policies.• Support management in supplier negotiations and key procurement activities.Requirements:The successful candidate will demonstrate with below skills & experience:• Minimum 8 years’ experience in estimating within the construction industry (residential, medium density, or multi-unit preferred).• Strong leadership and proven ability to manage and mentor a team.• Proficiency in estimation and project management software (e.g., Databuild, CostX, Cubit, Excel).• In-depth knowledge of BCA/NCC, OH&S standards, and construction regulations.• Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with high accuracy.Why join us?✨ Competitive salary & benefits✨ 100% salary in probation✨ Full social insurance✨ International working environment✨ Chance to work onsite in Australia
