Atlas Partners is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for our client in the SE Melbourne suburbs. This is a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of monthly reporting, quarterly forecasting, and annual budgeting. This is a hands-on, high-visibility position that blends technical financial reporting with commercial insight, mentoring, and process improvement.Working within a high-performing finance team, you’ll partner closely with senior leaders, the Commercial Finance team, and broader internal stakeholders. You’ll bring structure, clarity, and value-add analysis to support strategic business decisions, while also helping uplift systems and capability across the function.The Perks:Work with a respected leadership team and influence business direction through insights and reportingup to $130,000 + super + bonusBroad scope across management accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and continuous improvementGenuine career development platform with mentoring responsibilities and future progression opportunitiesSupportive, high-performing finance team cultureResponsibilities:Own and deliver the month-end accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely management accountsPrepare and present month-end management accounts, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets, including variance analysis and clear commentary for stakeholdersOversee and contribute to monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standardsProvide commercial analysis and interpret results to identify improvement opportunities and recommend remedial actionsPartner with the Finance Manager to support monthly Business Performance ReportsIdentify, instigate, and implement process improvement initiatives, including technology enhancements and best-practice reporting approachesAssist in the annual budget and rolling forecast cycles, helping ensure robust assumptions and aligned stakeholder inputsCoach and mentor junior finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and developmentAbout you:Minimum 7 years’ experience in accounting/finance roles, ideally with Big 4 and/or large corporate reporting exposureDegree-qualified in Accounting/Finance and CA/CPA qualifiedStrong technical financial reporting skills and deep understanding of management accounting disciplinesAdvanced Excel capability and confident working across large datasets and reconciliationsProven ability to engage senior stakeholders, explain complex financial matters clearly, and influence outcomesProactive, resilient, and improvement-minded comfortable managing competing priorities under pressureHighly analytical, detail-focused, and commercially orientedFor more information on this position, please hit APPLY NOW or send your resume directly to rhys.rubio-senior@atlaspartners.com.au*Please note sponsorship is not available for this position
