The OpportunityAs a senior journalist, you’ll cover the biggest issues in the capital and break the stories that matter the most to Wellingtonians— from transport, housing, local government, and crime to the personalities and people that make this city such a great place to live.How You'll Do It You'll have a strong understanding of your audience and a proven track record of telling important and engaging stories. Maintain a strong network of contacts and story sources, and be a self-starter in generating news leads and ideas. Deliver complete, error-free packages using a multimedia approach (digital, print and broadcasting). Ensure premium content is thoroughly planned and well-executed. Work quickly and efficiently, managing time and prioritising to meet all deadlines.About You You’ll have a journalism qualification and newsroom experience, committed to delivering high-impact, authentic, relentlessly interesting journalism for our audiences. Your attributes and talents will include a dogged pursuit of the truth, and high-quality research and writing skills. The right candidate will find and create content that resonates locally and nationally thanks to great contact building and a great nose for news.
