You will have access to diverse, complex, and intellectually stimulating cases that will challenge and develop your legal expertise.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ready to lead, inspire, and make a meaningful contribution to the continued growth and excellence of a top-tier legal practice.BenefitsAppointment as Lawyer of the Litigation Department· Opportunity to actively contribute to the Firm’s overall growth and direction· Highly competitive and attractive remuneration package, reflective of qualifications, expertise and experience· Visible and achievable career path, based on performance, confidence, autonomy, leadership, contribution to Firm’s development etc.· Payment of 13th salary in December each year· Eligibility to bonuses under the Firm’s defined bonus schemes· Additional financial incentives for introducing clients to the Firm· Professional Pension Fund with employer contributions· 22 days of annual leave· Laptop and necessary technology for efficient remote work when required· Free parking area provided for ease of daily commuting· Full coverage of costs for seminars and trainings required for license renewal· Full coverage of advocates pension fund contributions· Payment of annual bar association/license renewal fees by the Firm· Early departure on Fridays: until 2:00 p.m.ResponsibilitiesHandle, oversee and manage a portfolio of complex, high-value or significant litigation cases· Represent clients in court hearings, trials and ADR procedures· Prepare and review pleadings and other court documents prepared by junior litigation team members to ensure quality and accuracy· Prepare and review legal opinions· Act as the focal point of contact, especially for key litigation clients· Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients· Train, mentor and develop junior members of the litigation team· Allocate and oversee the distribution of litigation cases· Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the Firm’s litigation department· Represent the Firm at professional and promotional events, conferences and networking activities· Contribute to the shaping, improvement and implementation of the Firm’s overall business plan and strategy, its policies and procedures· The seniority of the position will be determined in the course of the employment according to the Firm’s defined career path, following an assessment of the candidate’s experience, knowledge, competencies, and abilities.RequirementsAt least seven (7) years of post-qualification experience in contentious litigation cases and Court practice;· LLB (Bachelor of Laws) with a minimum grade of 2.1 (upper second) or equivalent;· LL.M.(Master of Laws) or Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) or Legal Practice Course (LPC) will be considered an advantage· Cyprus Bar Association License· ADR or other professional certificates or qualifications will be considered an advantage· Fluent knowledge of Greek and English, both written and oral· Excellent use of Microsoft Office SuiteProfessional and Personal Abilities, Skills and Attributes· Necessary knowledge, experience, abilities and skills allowing to autonomously manage and execute cases and tasks that they will be required and expected to handle in the litigation field.· Self-confidence, readiness and assurance to undertake and successfully handle any litigation cases and matters, regardless of their complexity, financial scale or significance.· In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules· Wide experience in diverse contentious cases and matters· Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills· Strong ability to negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) outcomes· Take responsibility for own actions and initiatives· Dynamic with pleasant personality· Self-motivated and able to cooperate efficiently with co-workers· Effective delegation and monitoring skills· Strong communication skills to manage client expectations, ensure satisfaction and build long-term client relationships· Exceptional oral and written communication skills for clear and persuasive legal arguments· Strong public speaking skills for presentations in court and during client meetings· High standards of professional ethics and integrity in all dealings.Note: Thank you for considering this opportunity and for taking the time to apply.
