Job Description

To identify and evaluate potential school acquisitions and new business opportunities, support management in strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance with government and MOE regulations. The role contributes directly to the company’s market growth, operational efficiency, and profitability within the framework of company policies, international best practices, and local labour laws.Key Responsibilities: New Business Development Conduct comprehensive market research and intelligence gathering to identify emerging business opportunities and schools available for acquisition.Keep the Regional Director informed of market developments, potential acquisitions, and relevant industry trends.Prepare preliminary feasibility studies and business cases for Regional Director review and approval.Develop detailed acquisition proposals outlining school ownership, license status, location, financials, and other relevant details.Arrange and coordinate meetings between the Regional Director and prospective school owners.Negotiate terms and conditions of acquisition in line with the Regional Director’s guidance and approvals.Coordinate with valuation firms and consultants to conduct financial, operational, and legal due diligence.Liaise with corporate legal counsel to draft and finalize acquisition agreements based on approvals received.Prepare and submit weekly Business Development Reports to the Regional Director, summarizing progress, challenges, and recommendations.Government Relations – 40%Prepare and submit proposals to the Ministry of Education (MOE) for new school acquisitions, including fee structures, student capacity, and operational plans.Conduct market studies and feasibility analyses for the establishment of new schools.Deliver presentations to MOE and relevant authorities alongside the Regional Director and proposed Head of School.Provide clarifications and responses to MOE queries within the stipulated timelines following proposal submission.Notify the State Education Department regarding the commencement of construction or occupation of new school properties.Coordinate with MOE officials for site visits, inspections, and audits, ensuring all feedback is promptly addressed.Prepare and submit comparative studies and supporting documentation for school fee renewals and adjustments.Develop and implement school security and traffic management plans, liaising with local councils and residents’ associations to minimize congestion and ensure community compliance.Key Requirement: Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.15-20 years of overall experience within the Malaysian education industry, including at least 4–5 years in a managerial capacity.Proven track record in business development, marketing, or strategic partnership roles related to education or property developmentProficient in Above-the-Line (ATL) and Below-the-Line (BTL) marketing activities.Sound knowledge of media operations and property development dynamics.Comprehensive understanding of government procedures for visa processing, labour applications, and obtaining business licenses from the MOE and local authorities.
