We are seeking an experienced marketing and communications professional who is passionate about non-profit excellence and fundraising.The (Senior) Manager Marketing & Fundraising Communication will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Foundation’s global marketing, communications, and donor engagement strategy. This position has a strong focus on fundraising communications, including the development of compelling narratives, digital campaigns, stewardship materials, and strategic content that inspires individuals, corporations, and foundations to invest in Scouting’s global impact. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller and results-driven communicator with experience in philanthropy, partnerships, and brand management within an international context. We are on an ambitious path to increase the annual donation income to a significantly higher level. The successful candidate will be a positive, proactive team player who gels with and thrives within our established dynamic team, providing valuable support across all your areas of responsibility to achieve our goals, whilst identifying and actioning opportunities for improvements and greater efficiencies.Role OverviewThe (Senior) Manager Marketing & Fundraising Communication is responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies and communication plans to enhance brand visibility, drive engagement, and maximise fundraising outcomes. This role owns the WSF brand, messaging, and media presence, delivering integrated campaigns that directly support fundraising programmes and donor recognition, while also supporting donor acquisition in close cooperation with the Director of Philanthropy and other colleagues. The (Senior) Manager Marketing & Fundraising Communication works in close partnership with the Manager Digital Engagement, the Director of Philanthropy, and other colleagues, ensuring that all marketing and communication initiatives are aligned with fundraising objectives. They also ensure that digital and traditional channels are leveraged to engage, steward, and grow the Foundation’s supporter base. The role also ensures alignment with the communications and fundraising strategies of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), reinforcing a unified global message and clarity of roles between the World Scout Foundation (WSF) and WOSM. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and implement an integrated marketing and communication strategy, aligned with the Foundation’s fundraising and engagement goals and monitor their effectiveness.Strengthen the Foundation’s brand and visibility globally, ensuring consistent messaging and high-quality content across all channels.Support the Foundation’s leadership and fundraising colleagues with communications advice, key messages, and strategic positioning.In collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy, support the work of the Fundraising & Marketing Board Sub-committee.Fundraising & Donor CommunicationsDesign and deliver fundraising communication campaigns (digital and traditional) targeting major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.Create compelling donor materials, including proposals, impact reports, presentations, newsletters, and case statements.Develop and manage donor journeys, storytelling frameworks, and stewardship tools to enhance donor engagement and retention.In the future, responsibilities for specific fundraising-related activities can be added to this role.Collaborate with fundraising colleagues to align communications with donor priorities and Foundation initiatives. Content & Brand ManagementOversee all Foundation communication channels, including the website, social media, email marketing, and printed publications.Lead the production of inspiring content showcasing the global impact of Scouting.Ensure brand coherence and alignment with Scouting's visual identity and communication standards.Oversee the further development of a joint (WSF & WOSM) branding specifically for fundraising purposes. Media & Stakeholder RelationsManage media relations and external communications to elevate the Foundation’s public profile.Support the Foundation’s participation in major events, donor gatherings, and Scouting celebrations with high-quality communication materials. Digital Engagement OversightLead website, social media, email journeys, and the Scout Donation Platform with the Manager Digital Engagement, ensuring all digital activities are optimised for fundraising and supporter engagement.Monitor analytics; iterate for growth, conversion, and fundraising performance. Management & CollaborationSupervise and mentor communications volunteers, consultants, and creative partners.Act as the Foundation’s communications bridge to WOSM to align messaging, storytelling, and donor engagement, and to ensure consistency of tone and framing across both organisations’ platforms and campaigns.Collaborate as a peer with the Manager Digital Engagement; This is a full-time position with the option to work 80%, based on an open-ended contract with a three (3) to six (6) month probationary period. We would prefer to employ someone working Switzerland, however remote work from within the EU is possible.If employed in Switzerland (preferred):A full contract under Swiss law is based on 40 hours of work per week.Working irregular hours, including some weekends and/or official holiday days, will be expected.The position is, in principle, based in Kandersteg, Switzerland.
