The Senior Manager of Enterprise Data will have broad, hands-on experience building and managing data ecosystems. This individual will participate in all phases of the data engineering life cycle, with responsibilities including writing project requirements, architecting solutions, developing data ingestion pipelines, coaching and mentoring team members, and setting the data vision for the organization. The Senior Manager combines strong technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills with the interpersonal skills required to manage a team.ResponsibilitiesOwns and advances the enterprise information (data & integration) architecture strategyDevelops vision with the Data Architect and manages the execution of deliverables to achieve the roadmapLeads teams to use state-of-the-art tools and technologies to build data architecture and data pipelines to acquire high-velocity real-time and batch data of different sizes and scalesImplements an optimized and tuned data pipeline (data ingest, data transformation, data store, and data distribution) for new use cases as well as changes to existing functionalitiesEnsures inbound and outbound data interfaces are appropriately developed and monitored, including that exchanged data is accurate and available when neededManages scope, requirements, and risk related to development work to meet delivery commitments and expectationsArchitects implement and maintain scalable data infrastructure solutions that integrate with varying data sources to aggregate and retrieve data using efficient and secure techniques that can be leveraged in BI reporting, analysis, machine learning models and ad-hoc data requestsLeads data governance efforts by partnering with the business and technology stakeholders to ensure that database management procedures and best practices are met while achieving business valueDirects continuous improvement of data management practices to ensure that data resources are integrated, understandable, accessible, and secureStays up to date with technology, trends, and tools in Big DataPerforms ad hoc duties and responsibilities as neededQualifications:7+ Years of software delivery experience preferred5+ years of experience in building data ingestion pipelines preferredBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field requiredHands-on design and development experience with multiple Data Technologies, including but not limited to, Data Warehouse, Big Data, Data Integration, and ETLETL experience working with integration platforms such as MulesoftHands-on experience in on Cloud environments, preferably AzureAbility to guide, direct, and mentor team members new to Cloud technology on transition to Cloud environment and foster best practicesExperience in Microsoft technologies like SSIS, SQL Server, and SSRSExperience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work. Must have experience with leading deeply technical teamsStrong project management skills, including work prioritization, planning, and task delegationAbility to effectively communicate (both written and verbally) technical information at all levels of the organizationExcellent interpersonal skills; comfort and competence in dealing with different teams within the organizationProactive approach to problem-solving with effective influencing skillsExperience working in a retail or transportation environment
