The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, experience leading complex mechanical design work, and the ability to guide engineering teams through full project lifecycles — from concept through commissioning.This role includes mechanical system design from scratch, analysis/calculations, risk assessments, component selection, system integration, and on-site field work.Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Design & AnalysisDesign mechanical systems and assemblies to meet project specifications.Perform stress, fatigue, acceleration, tolerance, and load calculations.Develop detailed mechanical design documentation and system configuration records.Create design drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.System Development & IntegrationSupport installation, system start-up, testing, and commissioning.Analyze designs for hazard mitigation and reliability.Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.Support integration projects across entertainment, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.Technical LeadershipServe as technical lead for assigned projects.Provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and contractors.Support planning, scheduling, and project execution workflows.Project Management (Small Projects)Lead smaller projects ranging from $50k–$250k.Develop implementation plans and assign tasks.Track progress, evaluate changes, and document updates.Manage purchasing, subcontractor coordination, and change order proposals.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.7+ years experience required; 10+ years preferred in mechanical systems design.Strong knowledge of mechanical components, stress analysis, acceleration forces, and reliability studies.Experience with amusement ride or attraction safety standards (ASTM) is highly preferred.Proficiency using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.Ability to collect field data and support accurate system documentation.Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.Ability to travel up to 35%.Competencies✔ Strong planning and organizational skills ✔ Excellent written and verbal communication ✔ Problem-solving and decision-making ability ✔ Ability to work in multi-discipline engineering teams ✔ Customer-focused mindsetPhysical & Work Abilitylift, climb, and work in industrial/construction environments.Work includes a mix of office, on-site, and field conditions.
