Senior Network Engineer / IT Architect

When connectivity becomes critical, you’re the one who keeps everything running.Our client in Limburg is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer / Architect with strong expertise in networking, security, VoIP and DDI.In this role, you combine architectural responsibility with hands-on implementation across Extreme Networks, Palo Alto, Illumio, Infoblox, Mitel and Microsoft Teams Phone, within a 24/7 mission-critical environment where continuity is key.Your ImpactDesign and document a future-proof datacenter and enterprise network (Extreme Networks).Build and maintain cybersecurity by design with Palo Alto, Illumio, and advanced segmentation.Develop robust VoIP and collaboration solutions: Mitel, Teams Phone, SIP, QoS, number plans.Lead implementations and migrations with minimal downtime in a 24/7-critical setting.Handle monitoring, troubleshooting (L1–L7) and capacity management.Define standards, coach colleagues, and communicate clearly between IT and business teams.Technical Profile10+ years of experience in enterprise environments with focus on networking, security, VoIP and DDI solutions.5+ years in a lead, architect or senior engineer role.Deep expertise in:Network design & protocols: BGP, OSPF, VLAN, subnetting, routing, TCP/IP stack.Security: Palo Alto firewalls, segmentation, NAC/802.1X, Illumio microsegmentation, threat prevention.VoIP & Collaboration: SIP, QoS/DSCP, number plans, Mitel, Teams Phone.DDI solutions: DNS/DHCP/IPAM (Infoblox NIOS).Automation & IaC: Ansible, Python, Terraform.Enterprise networking: SD-WAN / SASE, SIEM/SOAR, ITIL-based operations.Monitoring & troubleshooting: Packet captures, firewall logs, performance optimisation.Who You AreA hands-on, humble professional who values collaboration over ego.Analytical, structured and calm under pressure.Fluent in Dutch and professional in English; French is a plus.Certifications that make you stand out:PCNSE, Extreme Certified Professional/Expert, JNCIP/IE, Illumio, Infoblox NIOS, ITIL.What You GetA visible, high-impact role in a 24/7-critical environment.Company car, competitive salary package and training budget for certifications.A team that grows together, with room for initiative and expertise.Based in Limburg (Belgium) – hybrid work possible.Ready to design the networks of tomorrow?Apply today or reach out - we’ll be happy to tell you more.
