In this new role, you will lead initiatives to attract international investors and financing partners, connect global capital with Swedish scaleups, funds and strategic projects, and advise international companies on financing structures for investments in Sweden.About Business SwedenBusiness Sweden – the Swedish Trade and Investment Council – holds the national mandate to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) on behalf of the Swedish Government and the private sector. Through this work, we drive sustainable economic growth, innovation, and job creation that make a lasting impact on Sweden’s economy and society.Your RoleAs Senior Project Manager, you will lead Business Sweden’s capital attraction initiatives within the investment promotion mandate, working closely with colleagues across our industry and market teams to deliver impactful, cross-functional results. Your manager is the Head of Materials & Industrials team, within Region Sweden, but you will work closely with colleagues over the whole organisation globally at Business Sweden. The position will be based at Business Sweden’s headquarters in Stockholm. We apply probationary employment in all applicable positions.The role includes responsibilities such as:Capital mobilization – Source, attract and connect institutional investors, family offices, development finance institutions (DFIs), corporate venture capital, and growth funds with Swedish scaleups, fund managers (GPs), and strategic industrial projects.Project finance advisory - Advise international companies on project financing structures, equities, grants, and loan structures leveraging financial instruments to support establishment and expansion in Sweden.Ecosystem development – Build strong relationships with banks, institutional allocators, public finance institutions, and private capital providers in Sweden and globally.Investment pipeline development – Identify investment-ready projects together with our industry teams, matching them with international investors and capital interest.Market positioning – Promote Sweden as a premier investment destination, showcasing concrete opportunities that reinforce Sweden’s long-term competitiveness and innovation capacity.Results delivery – Generate measurable outcomes – including qualified deal flow, capital commitments, and completed transactions – in line with Business Sweden’s FDI and competitiveness targets.Skills & RequirementsCore competencies and collaborative skillsYou combine financial expertise with a consultative and results-oriented mindset, blending analytical strength with strong interpersonal ability to build trusted relationships.Demonstrate commitment, honesty, and accountability in tasks.Provide support and take ownership to ensure high quality delivery on time.Collaborate effectively to achieve good results with a positive can-do attitude. Show appreciation for different perspectives.Formal requirementsAn advanced degree in finance, economics, or business.At least 10 years’ experience in international finance, venture capital, private equity, or project finance – experience in investment promotion or public capital attraction is a strong advantage.Deep understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and investment processes, including risk frameworks and transaction structuring.Proven ability to structure and close investments, working effectively with public and private stakeholders.Experience supporting Swedish scaleups or advising companies on cross-border expansion or capital raising, ideally within innovation- or sustainability-driven sectors.An established network within Sweden’s financial and investment ecosystem is a must, international relationships are an advantage.High level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Swedish is required.ApplicationPlease submit your CV and cover letter in English as soon as possible as we will be screening applications on a rolling basis.
