Job Description
The Senior Property Officer supports the department's acquisition program through property expertise to identify, investigate, recommend and oversee the acquisition of land for capital delivery. The Senior Property Officer liaises a range of key internal and external stakeholders to provide timely property advice and contributes to the ongoing delivery of social housing.Your role within Social and Affordable Housing Growth will support the department to deliver well-designed, safe and secure social housing to assist Queenslanders who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.Through partnerships, Social and Affordable Housing Growth provides and influences the provision of safe, secure, affordable and appropriate housing to the people of Queensland, and the building of vibrant and connected precincts and communities in which they live. We influence, plan, design, procure and contract the delivery of contemporary housing solutions that meet the needs of our clients, reflect local community needs, and support jobs in regional Queensland. We maintain, upgrade and renew a housing portfolio of over 74,000 dwellings to ensure our tenants are safe, secure and in housing that continues to meet their needs. We are committed to the successful delivery of public housing and assisting Queenslanders who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.What You Will Be DoingContribute to the sourcing and acquisition of land for social housing capital delivery requirements including acquisition of land for redevelopment.Conduct property market research and analysis to inform decision making and the provision of advice to stakeholders and management in relation to efficient acquisition of land for the housing portfolio.Use property expertise, social housing business knowledge and the support of corporate systems to inform and advise senior management about property acquisition opportunities.Contribute to timely and accurate reporting on the progress against acquisition targets that is fit for purpose, agile and responsive.Prepare correspondence, briefings, reports, information papers and submissions, and other relevant documentation as required.Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/667119/25Closing Date: Friday, 07 November 2025Occupational group Building Services
