Job Description

Job PurposeWe are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team at UGR. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the effective implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of UGR’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and quality standards across all maritime and shipping operations. The Senior Specialist will drive process excellence, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with international standards and UGR’s business objectives.ResponsibilitiesOversee and maintain UGR’s Integrated Management System (IMS) documentation, including policies, SOPs, work instructions, and process maps, ensuring accessibility and compliance with international standardsMonitor and review operational performance, quality standards, and compliance across UGR departments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.Lead or participate in internal audits, process reviews, and corrective action planning to proactively address non-conformities and drive continual improvementDevelop, document, and standardize workflows and procedures, ensuring consistency and efficiency across UGRPrepare and analyze quality and performance reports, presenting findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.Maintain and improve service quality by completing process, system, compliance, and surveillance audits, and investigating customer complaintsMaintain process-level risks, opportunities, and non-conformities logs, ensuring compliance with relevant international standardsUtilize statistical tools to support problem-solving in areas such as process measures, financial metrics, scheduling, resource utilization, labor and productivity, quality measures, and customer satisfactionProvide training and support to process owners and executors on IMS, policies, procedures, and core processesResearch performance, quality, and service improvement issues internally and externally, staying aware of developments affecting UGR’s operationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related fieldMinimum 7 years’ experience in management systems and process improvement, with at least 5 years in a technical or maritime environment preferredExperience in ports, maritime, logistics, or supply chain sectors is highly desirableISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification (required)Additional auditor certifications (ISO 45001, 14001, 22301, 27001, 55001) and Six Sigma/CQE/CQA certifications (preferred)Required SkillsPossesses strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsA team player with a high sense of responsibility and strong communication skillsHighly detail-oriented, attentive, and able to follow up on tasks effectivelySolution-oriented with strategic thinking abilityExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantageProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong report writing and presentation skillsAbility to travel for business purposes when requiredMust reside in İzmir or be willing to relocate
