Role profile:Regulatory Reporting Solutions (RRS) is the London Stock Exchange's regulatory reporting, matching and reconciliation solution provider. RRS customers include investment banks, hedge funds, brokers and other financial services firms. Post Trade Regulatory Reporting provides business solutions in the areas of:Regulatory reporting with MiFIR, EMIR, UKMIIR, G20 and other regimes Provision of reference data (especially financial instruments data) Analytics and Surveillance platforms that provides a suite of control frameworks These services have seen year on year growth and are underpinned with a fully cloud hosted applications suite. To continue with these successes and increase market share we are looking to modernise and enhance these applications by delivering an enhanced new UI, API development alongside new scalable functionality to meet evolving market demands.ROLE SUMMARY:RRS is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior React Engineer to drive the design, development, and implementation of dynamic web applications using React.js. The Platform Engineering team develops, maintains and enhances the core RRS platform that backs multiple regulated Tier 1 applications and solutions. A new greenfield project is being initiated to deliver the NextGen platform for RRS.The successful candidate will lead the front-end development of high-performance, secure, and scalable financial platforms. As a core member of the development team, you will build intuitive and responsive user interfaces for applications that handle sensitive financial data, real-time analytics, and complex user workflowsThe role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance front-end solutions. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a deep understanding of JavaScript, component-driven architecture, and modern front-end best practices.This opening requires a candidate who takes great pride in delivering excellence with excellent logical and technical skills and a can-do attitude combined with a helpful mentality, and a wish to play a critical role in forming and tacking an established platform on its next technology journey.The culture of the RRS team is dynamic, and requires each individual to adapt rapidly to change, contribute fully and think on their feetWHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain complex React applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability. Write clean, modular, and reusable code using modern JavaScript (ES6+). Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, and product managers to deliver exceptional user experiences. Architect front-end solutions using tools such as Redux, Context API, or other state management libraries. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best coding practices. Troubleshoot and debug performance issues and bugs in a timely manner. Stay up to date with emerging front-end technologies and propose improvements to processes and tools. Candidate Profile / Key Skills5+ years of experience in front-end development, with at least 3 years in React.js. Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript. Strong experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Zustand, etc.). Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, microservices, and distributed systems Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and modern front-end build pipelines. Experience with RESTful API design and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure). Familiarity with testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes). Deployment of web applications and experience with continuous integration tools e.g GitLab and familiar with build and dependency management systems e.g. Maven Good awareness of the design, development and SDLC considerations required for development of Financial Services market infrastructure applications Builds strong relationships with their team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team Takes interest to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects. Collaborate closely with QA teams Providing L3 support for critical production issue. Desirable skills and experience:Experience with Cloud Native technologies on at least one of the major cloud services providers (Azure or AWS) Snowflake Rest API design and development Kubernetes / microservices applications design Behavioural SkillsEmpower the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.
