Job Title: Senior Sales Engineer – Automotive Location: Sharjah, UAE Industry: Automotive / Motor Vehicle ManufacturingJob SummaryThe Senior Sales Engineer will drive business development and revenue growth for automotive laboratory testing services. The role requires strong technical sales expertise, deep understanding of automotive testing standards, and the ability to build long-term client relationships across OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, and automotive engineering organizations.Duties & Responsibilities1. Sales & Business DevelopmentDrive revenue growth by promoting automotive laboratory testing services to new and existing clients.Identify, qualify, and secure business opportunities with OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, automotive electronics companies, and R&D centers.Support customers in selecting appropriate testing methods based on standards such as ISO, ASTM, IEC, SAE, LV124/125, and OEM-specific plans.Promote laboratory services across the region and achieve assigned sales targets.Manage the sales pipeline through strategic planning, lead prioritization, and structured follow-up.Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.2. Technical Sales & Proposal DevelopmentPromote a full suite of specialized laboratory services, including:Metrology: Dimensional inspection, calibration, Q&DT, CMM services.Mechanical Testing: Tensile, compression, fatigue, hardness, impact, material characterization.Climatic & IP Testing: Temperature/humidity cycling, thermal shock, dust/water ingress (IPx).Vibration Testing: Sine, random vibration, shock, combined environment tests.Electrical & Electronics Testing: EMC/EMI, functional testing, electrical endurance, reliability tests.Prepare technical and commercial proposals tailored to customer requirements.Recommend appropriate testing methods and solutions based on recognized industry standards.3. Customer Relationship ManagementAct as the primary point of contact between clients and internal laboratory teams.Build long-term relationships through consistent communication, technical support, and reliable service.Understand customer challenges related to durability, compliance, validation, and reliability testing.Coordinate project details including sample readiness, scheduling, execution, and report delivery.4. Market Awareness & Industry ExpertiseStay updated on automotive testing regulations, compliance requirements, and market trends.Provide management with feedback on market opportunities, customer needs, competition, and potential service expansions.5. Internal CollaborationWork closely with lab engineers, metrology teams, project coordinators, and program managers to ensure proposal accuracy.Participate in internal discussions, planning, and resource allocation for customer projects.6. Marketing & RepresentationRepresent the company in trade shows, exhibitions, technical conferences, and marketing events.Deliver presentations and technical explanations to engineering and procurement teams.7. Reporting, Forecasting & AdministrationContribute to budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning based on market activity.Maintain accurate CRM records including interactions, proposals, pipelines, and opportunities.Prepare sales reports, market analyses, and performance updates for management.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related technical discipline.Minimum 10 years of sales experience in automotive testing, laboratory services, metrology, or industrial engineering.Strong understanding of testing standards such as ISO, IEC, SAE, ASTM, and OEM specifications.Experience with testing equipment such as environmental chambers, vibration shakers, and E&E test systems (highly preferred).Strong technical sales, communication, and negotiation skills.Ability to work independently and achieve consistent sales targets.
