If you love cars and possess a strong desire to lead on the challenges we face, Mazda Canada’s product planning team is the place for you!Based out of Richmond Hill, Ontario, the Senior Specialist, Product Planning will play a key role in coordinating and completing product analysis and developing recommendations through the continuous evaluation of competitive movements, maintenance of key product reference tools, and a close following of consumer & industry trends. This position will be responsible for corresponding frequently with Mazda Canada’s (MCI) parent company, Mazda Motor Corporation (MC) headquartered in Hiroshima, Japan and for completing associated assignments centered on future product development.This role supports multi-year product planning cycles and strategic project execution. Success comes from seeing key initiatives through to completion and maintaining continuity across planning milestones. Candidates who are eager to grow with Mazda and contribute over a longer horizon will find meaningful opportunities to make an impact and advance.Essential Duties Include (but Not Limited To)Conduct analysis on market/product trends utilizing tools such as AutoPlanner (AutoData), PIN (JD Power), IHS Markit CFI data cube, Maritz mTab, and competitive cycle plan information.Ensure tools such as value analysis templates, trim mix reports and competitive cycle plans remain always up to date to provide guidance to our broader business operations.Work collaboratively with our Sales, Marketing & Finance teams to gather holistic perspectives that will form the foundation of MCI’s future product planning.Develop product, pricing, and marketing scenarios (Market Equation, aka “ME”) with Mazda North American Operations in USA and Mazda Corporation HQ in Japan.Collaborate with Global Regions to align future product planning strategies and ensure our market needs are clearly represented throughout the development process.Prepare and lead the review of the ME proposal to obtain MCI management and MC approvals, explaining the strategic intent to stakeholders while representing the best interests of MCI in the global Mazda product development arena.Provide input on product-related communications and materials, offering suggestions to enhance clarity and customer relevance where appropriate.Craft and publish department bulletins, specifications & features decks, vehicle price lists, as well as other product related communications and resource documentsAct as a product liaison and ambassador by effectively responding to requests and requirements both internally and externallyActively participate in studies on new business trends/tasks, such as electrification, SDV, CX, and more.Qualifications (experience, Knowledge & Skills Required)Post-secondary education in a related field2-3 years of automotive work experience preferredStrong interest in cars is a mustAbility to interpret and create detailed analyses within an automotive context with a strong commitment to accuracyDemonstrated analytical strength with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights and provide recommendations that support strategic decision-makingAbility to plan and multi-task with minimal supervisionProficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on ExcelStrong communication skills both orally and writtenEffective organizational and interpersonal skillsMazda Canada Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and upon request by the applicant, accommodations will be provided in all parts of the hiring process.Mazda Canada Inc. is an Employer Partner of the Canadian Center for Diversity and Inclusion, Diversio, Empowering Auto Conference and Equitek Employment Solutions.
