Our growing reputation has been cultivated through an unwavering pursuit of excellence and innovation.Role SnapshotOur expanding team is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with 4+ years’ post-graduate experience to work on a variety of high-quality and challenging projects across New Zealand. Our current blend of projects includes a mixture of high-end residential and commercial building design and detailed seismic assessments of heritage structures.Qualifications and ExperienceA BE in civil engineering (or equivalent by Washington Accord)4+ years’ experience working for a reputable structural engineering consultancyclose to or recently chartered (CPEng)Valid NZ driving licenceCore DutiesPreparation of sketches, calculations and reports to ensure the successful delivery of projectsCarry out site inspections to ensure construction work is being carried out to an acceptable standardTechnical reviews of drawings to ensure structural layout and member sizes match the design calculationsStrict adherence to the Company Operations Manual to ensure consistency in project deliveryRegular communication and coordination with project architects and other building industry professionalsTechnical SkillsUse analytical software effectively and interpret the outputs conciselyGood working knowledge of NZ StandardsCompetent in the design of all principal construction materials (concrete, masonry, steel and timber)Personal Skills and InterestsAble to prioritise workload, juggle a variety of tasks at once, and work effectively within a teamGreat budget awareness and management, and the ability to meet tight deadlinesA flexible, positive approach and the ability to work as part of a team in a busy, creative atmosphereExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levelsCan do attitude with a drive for successA keen interest in architecture and designGood communication skills and a collaborative approachCore ValuesAt Pocket we have six core values as stated below.
