Service Desk Specialist - Short Term Contract 1-2 months with possible extension Location: Perth, WAType: Full-time | Monday to Friday (variable start times between 6:00am and 10:30am)Up to $40 per hour inc Super ( equiv $72K inc Super) Our client is seeking a motivated Service Desk Specialist to join their team, providing first-level technical support and outstanding customer service across software, hardware, and network environments.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid Level 1 support experience who’s looking to build their career within a leading technology-driven organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical software, hardware, and network problem resolutions under supervision as part of a collaborative team.Diagnose issues, determine appropriate solutions, and communicate effectively with customers.Utilise remote access tools (e.g., Remote Desktop) to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.Assist with first-level troubleshooting across operating systems, applications, file systems, and backups.Support security, connectivity, and infrastructure services (e.g., DNS, DHCP) within a managed environment.Experience & QualificationsMinimum 1 year of Level 1 / Service Desk technical support experience.Strong understanding of ITIL or completion of ITIL Foundation v4 certification.Essential Technical KnowledgeOperating Systems: Ability to troubleshoot and perform first-level problem analysis.Remote Administration: Confident using remote desktop tools.Applications: Understanding of hardware/software interaction and basic troubleshooting.Files & File Systems: Knowledge of data movement utilities and file permissions.Backup/Restore: Understanding of backup and restore processes.Security: Awareness of physical and virtual security practices, including antivirus protection.Networking: Familiar with TCP/IP, name resolution, and network connectivity verification.If you’re ready to take the next step in your IT career and want to work within a supportive and professional environment, we’d love to hear from you.Apply today or contact Brooke Alexander at QIX Consulting for a confidential discussion.At QIX Consulting, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
