In order to fully meet our Mission to our students, we require a diverse combination of perspectives, backgrounds, life experiences, and ideas from our faculty and staff and will provide them with an equitable and inclusive work environment -where respect and open interchange of ideas are at the heart of that culture.Over 16,000 Students10 CampusesCompetency Based EducationOnlineSimulation Center Coordinator DescriptionSouth College Orlando is seeking a skilled Simulation Center Coordinator to join our team!Our Simulation Coordinator will work in the following waysGeneral ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the simulation curriculum that conforms with South College's mission, goals, and objectivesResearch vendors for supplies and equipment, obtain bids, and make purchasing decisions within delegated authority.Conduct tours of the facilities.Promote revenue stream training services to local external healthcare and emergency response organizations.Supervise preventive maintenance of equipment according to manufacturers' recommendations. Monitor scheduled maintenance to ensure that equipment is operational. Work with manufacturers or vendors to correct equipment deficiencies in order to minimize down time.Provide BLS, ACLS, and PALS training to health science students and facultyEvaluate, revise, coordinate and deploy simulation curriculumInstruct didactic year students, participating as Course Director as directedAssist in the preparation for didactic lab activities throughout the didactic and clinical quartersParticipate in the Didactic Curriculum Committee to evaluate and develop curriculumParticipate in committees at the department and college levelsMonitor equipment and supply levels, replacing items as needed in concert with the Department leads and pursuant to budget approvalAssist in other departments as neededParticipate in scholarly and research activities; maintain CME requirementsRequirementsRequired Knowledge and SkillsStrong organizational skills and keen attention to detailAdept interpersonal and communication skillsSkillful problem-solving capabilitiesAn ability to work effectively in a team environment with faculty, staff and administrationExcellent written and oral communication skillsComputer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointMinimum EducationAssociate degree in health-related fieldMinimum ExperienceAt least three years of clinical experienceExperience in high-fidelity simulation in an academic environmentAHA instructor (or eligible)Preferred ExperienceNursing or other direct patient care background
