Performs preventative maintenance, and handles a variety of campus projects as assigned. This is position is considered Essential Personnel.Responsibilities1 -Performs tasks related to maintenance, repair, and construction work in basic trades such as carpentry, painting and plumbing.2 -Construct, install, and maintain roofs, furniture, fences, cabinets, shelving, chalkboards, bulletin boards, and other office/classroom equipment.3 -Install, repair doors, window glass, floors, ceiling tiles, door locks, access enclosures, and a variety of other apparatus.4 -Operate a variety of moving equipment, non-power tools, and hand-held power tools including table saws, and drills.5 -Troubleshoot maintenance problems, analyze situations, and take corrective action.6 -Performs related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsEducational RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentOther Required QualificationsMust possess a current valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review.Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug testing.Required ExperienceMore than three years of building maintenance and/or construction work experience.AbilitiesKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbility to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative with minimal supervision.KNOWLEDGEKnowledge of facilities maintenance principles and practices.Knowledge of trade-related principles, methods, tools, materials, procedures, and equipment related to: plumbing, carpentry, locksmith services, and painting.Knowledge of best practices and safety procedures.Knowledge of carpentry repair and construction principles.SkillsSkill in the safe and efficient operation of a variety of hand and power tools.Skill in decision making and problem solving.Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.Skill in oral and written communication.Contact InformationFor more information or questions about a job posting, please contact the Department of Human Resources at (912) 279.5740, or by email at careers@ccga.edu.
