Schedule provided in advance.Supervisor: Emily D'ArcangeloAlternate Supervisor: Ingrid IngersonThis position allows for remote work Yes/No: YesPercentage of time that could be remote (0-100%): 100%Method to assess remote work: Weekly submission of completed tasks, and biweekly meeting with supervisor.Job DescriptionThe Social Media & Virtual Events Assistant will support the Continuing Education team by helping manage social media content and providing virtual event support.About 60% of the role will focus on drafting and scheduling posts for the Continuing Education Facebook and LinkedIn pages. The remaining 40% of the role will involve assisting with live Zoom events, including providing technical support, introducing presenters, monitoring the chat, and ensuring smooth event delivery.Social media content creation will be completed independently and asynchronously. Event support is provided in real time during live Zoom sessions, which may include nights and/or weekends. A schedule of upcoming events will be provided well in advance, and the supervisor will work with the student to confirm availability and coverage.Skills You’ll Gain Develop hands-on experience in social media content creation and digital communications Grow professional communication skills for online and live event settings Build event coordination skills, including hosting, chat moderation, and technical troubleshooting on Zoom Strengthen confidence in public speaking through introducing presenters and engaging with event attendees Practice working independently while collaborating with a professional team Qualifications Required:Strong written communication skills Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn) Comfortable using Zoom and open to learning technical features (screen sharing, chat monitoring, breakout rooms, etc.) Professional, courteous, and comfortable interacting with presenters and event attendees Ability to work independently and manage time effectivelyPreferred:Experience creating or scheduling social media posts Prior experience supporting virtual or in-person events Public speaking or event facilitation experience (e.g., introducing speakers) Basic knowledge of digital marketing or audience engagement strategies Experience with Canva or similar design toolsHow to Apply: Letter of interest and resumeEmail: continuing-education@antioch.eduPosition Type: Work StudyDepartment: Continuing Education
