Minimum QualificationsThe Social Media Specialist will fulfill the Sports, Visitation and Entertainment's strategic priority of marketing Chesterfield via social and digital media as a First-Choice community and First-Choice destination for residents and visitors alike.Here's What You NeedBachelor's degree in digital and/or social media, communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design or multimedia arts; two years of experience in providing professional-level administrative, analytical and/or operational support in roles like social media manager, content creator or marketing assistant (prior experience could include internship in a related field); or an equivalent combination of training and experience. General knowledge of government operations and principles; excellent oral and written communication skills; problem solving and critical thinking skills. Candidate should have certifications or working knowledge of all social media platforms, digital marketing tools like SEO, as well as content tools like Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Canva etc. Abilities include creative thinking, adaptability, communication, attention to detail and time management.Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. We're looking for someone who can walk in on their first day and start to figure things out - taking the lead to learn our organization's operations and begin building relationships. That said, we will always support you and offer guidance, but there is expectation to work quickly and independently to turn around assignments. What about the office?
