About The RoleThe Specialist Daily Planner is responsible for developing and coordinating precise daily mine plans that guide operational teams in executing drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and dumping activities. This role ensures that daily plans are aligned with weekly and monthly targets, while remaining responsive to real-time operational changes and constraints.
You will serve as the key link between mine planning and operations, ensuring that plans are practical, safe, and optimized for productivity. The role requires strong technical planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with frontline supervisors, dispatch, and technical teams. Key ResponsibilitiesMine Planning Develop and issue daily dig and dump plans based on current pit conditions, equipment availability, and production priorities. Design haul routes and assign equipment to specific tasks to optimize cycle times and reduce idle time. Integrate geological and survey data to ensure accurate material movement and grade control.
Plan Execution & Coordination Communicate daily plans to supervisors and operators through maps, instructions, and pre-shift briefings. Monitor plan compliance throughout the shift and adjust plans as needed based on real-time feedback. Collaborate with dispatch and fleet management teams to ensure efficient execution of haulage and loading activities. Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring Track actual performance against daily plans and report variances in tonnes moved, equipment usage, and grade delivered. Use operational data to identify improvement opportunities and refine future daily planning processes. Maintain records of daily plans and outcomes for reconciliation and audit purposes.
Stakeholder Engagement Participate in daily pre-shift and post-shift meetings to align planning with operational goals and constraints. Liaise with survey, geology, and maintenance teams to incorporate updated models and pit conditions into daily plans. Provide feedback to short-term and medium-term planners to improve future planning accuracy. Safety & Compliance Ensure all daily plans comply with safety standards, pit design parameters, and regulatory requirements. Support hazard identification and risk mitigation through thoughtful plan design and communication.
