SQL BI Engineer | B2B | US Enterprise Client | Remote (Bucharest-based)

Job Location: Fully remote within Romania (Bucharest-based for long-term transition)Contract Type: Initial B2B agreement (PFA/SRL) for one year, with the option to extend or move to an employment contract (CIM).Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Romanian time), aligned with a U.S.-based client.Why this role stands out:A fully remote setup that offers flexibility and trust : you manage your time and results.A mature, data-focused environment where your work has measurable impact.Long-term collaboration with a stable U.S. financial services client.A chance to combine SQL expertise with BI insight, working at the intersection of analytics, engineering, and risk management.Space to grow professionally in a lean, autonomous team that values precision and accountability.What you’ll be doing:You’ll be part of the Portfolio Risk Management Team, developing predictive tools that measure investment performance and risk exposure.Your main focus: improving, maintaining, and extending the data layer that supports critical decision-making.Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and Power BI dashboards.Debug and enhance existing Python-based applications used in risk modeling.Support data integration and transformation alongside Python engineers.Apply best practices in the SDLC for maintainability and performance.Collaborate with business and analytics teams to turn requirements into practical technical outcomes.What you bring:5+ years of experience in SQL development or BI engineering.Strong skills in SQL (optimization, relational design, stored procedures).Hands-on experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report building).Familiarity with SSRS.Analytical mindset, clear communication, and attention to detail.Nice to have:Experience with Azure Databricks or other cloud data platforms.Familiarity with Python and debugging.Background in asset management or investment analytics.What’s next:The process includes:Technical step: SQL test.Final interview: discussion with the Team Manager, Python Engineer, and Scrum Master.If you value structure, professionalism, and clear collaboration, this role will fit naturally.We’re looking for someone who knows their craft and takes ownership of their work.
