SQL Developer - Cape Town

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:Undergraduate degree with majors in Information Systems / Mathematics / Statistics / Engineering, Finance or similar. Alternatively, at least 3 years' work experience in a business intelligence / engineering role will be considered. A relevant post-graduate degree will be a strong plus.Strong SQL Development skills and full Microsoft BI Stack knowledge (SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS).Experience working with large datasets and optimizing performance in business intelligence tools.Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration techniques.3+ years’ experience in business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.Experience developing dashboards, reports and visualizations for business insights.Ability to gather and translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputsAbility to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations.Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R for data analysis.Familiar with statistical testing techniques.It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:Relevant certifications in business intelligence tools or platforms (e.g. Microsoft Power BI Professional).Knowledge of data governance and compliance best practices.Experience with API integrations for dynamic data updates in business intelligence tools.Background in financial or operational reporting.Experience with streaming platforms (e.g. Kafka) for real-time data integration and analytics.Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift).
