If you are driven to create a better, more sustainable future, then this is the right place for you.The Sr. Technical Program Manager, Powertrain Drive Unit leads the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing equipment and processes, focusing on both brownfield and greenfield projects in automotive powertrain manufacturing. This role requires extensive collaboration across multiple departments to ensure successful project delivery, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement in manufacturing quality and efficiency.You WillDemonstrated experience in the design, development, and implementation of Powertrain Drive Unit Manufacturing equipment and processes for both brownfield or greenfield projectsAdvanced understanding of robotics and automation systems, including applications in rotor and stator manufacturing, and material conveyanceProven track record in commissioning and successfully ramping up automotive manufacturing equipmentIn-depth understanding of mechanical systems, including electric powertrains, motors, transmissions, and related components specific to drive unit manufacturingFamiliarity with automotive electrical systems, wiring harnesses, connectors, and industry standards for safety, performance, and durabilityCollaborate with design engineering, supply chain, procurement, quality, and production teams to drive the development, testing, and validation of drive unitsDrive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes, efficiency, and quality control to meet evolving industry standards and customer expectationsExceptional presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to senior management and leadership teamsDefine the program’s scope, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and translate business requirements into actionable plansDevelop and manage project schedules, allocate necessary resources (personnel, equipment, materials), and ensure timely delivery in accordance with established timelinesIdentify, assess, and proactively mitigate potential risks (technical, schedule, cost, etc.) throughout the program lifecycleMonitor and control program costs, ensuring alignment with budget constraints and identifying any potential cost discrepanciesMaintain consistent and clear communication with internal teams, external clients, and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and statusFacilitate collaboration across various departments, including engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, ensuring alignment of effortsEvaluate product design changes on manufacturing equipment to support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activitiesEnsure project teams prioritize and complete tasks effectively, meeting key project milestones and deadlinesDevelop a comprehensive understanding of the product, production processes, and manufacturing technologies to mitigate risks and identify opportunities for process optimizationCollaborate with relevant teams to identify and implement critical actions necessary for seamless integration of requirements into the manufacturing lineOrganize and lead meetings focused on resolving issues related to manufacturing equipment design and installationTrack and implement changes proposed by the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to ensure alignment with project goalYou BringBachelor's Degree in Engineering, STEM or related field, or equivalent relevant education and experience8+ years of experience in powertrain or DU manufacturing program managementProven leadership in high-volume automotive manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and DFM principlesExperience in the automotive industry is a must, preferably in Electric Drive Unit manufacturingExtensive launch and commissioning experiencePossesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the companyWorking knowledge of MS project and AutoCAD is a mustWorking Knowledge of Catia and Delmia is a plusWillingness to travel up to 50% of the timePossess knowledge and experience across multiple functions within product design and manufacturingAdditional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
