Job OverviewAvocet is a 21 bedded sub-acute elderly medicine and rehabilitation ward. Patients are admitted with a range of long-term medical conditions such as respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, and orthopaedic conditions.The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the continuous development of the ward and advancement in patient-centred care, as well as keen to progress in their knowledge and skills.We welcome applications from Nurses who are experienced, newly qualified or due to qualify.We offer dedicated career pathways and great opportunities for continuing professional development, an excellent preceptorship program for newly qualified nurses and the chance to further your career in a nurse led environment.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for providing all aspects of patient care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programs of care.The post holder will assist and is expected to supervise junior staff and be able to teach qualified and unqualified staff.The post holder will work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to support the planning and achievement of local service objectives.The post holder will support the Matron/Sister in ensuring effective and efficient day to day running of the ward maintaining safety at all times.Working for our organisationValuing you.
