We’re looking for an Administrative Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact at the agency in our Child Welfare Office in Covington, LA, creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors and providing administrative support that keeps our front office running smoothly. Job Duties and Other InformationThe incumbent of this position provides administrative and clerical support of program activities and data entry for Child Protection Investigations, Foster Care, and Family Services Programs. In this position, you will be responsible for duties such as:

Monitors and accepts calls from the public and staffPerform TIPS clearances as needed to determine appropriate worker to route calls or messages toGreets and assists clients/visitors to the office and enforces sign-in and visitor badge requirementsReview, approve, and enter various forms into TIPS programCollect logs and receipts from all state vehiclesSchedule appointments and assist caregivers with form completionCreate scheduling calendars for each conference/visitor roomOpen incoming mail from all sources and sort for distribution to appropriate supervisorsPerforms other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type:

This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee. Works Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8: 00 am to 4: 30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts. Career Progression:

This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
