About This JobThis position is located in the Greater New Orleans Area and provides physical security and police protection to state buildings. If selected, you will be assigned to one of the following buildings: The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA School), The New Orleans Office of Motor Vehicles, or another state building as determined by the Capitol Detail Commander. This position is responsible for providing traffic, investigation, and support services to aid the DPS Police - Capitol Detail in fulfilling its objectives and goals in public safety services.

Minimum QualificationsNo experience or training is required. Necessary Special Requirements: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Possession of a current driver's license. Job Duties: Job Duties and Other InformationServes as a Field Training Officer, lead worker, or other specialized role within the DPS Police.
Conducts proactive police patrols, issues citations, investigates crashes, and responds to all calls for service. Patrols assigned area to deter and prevent criminal activity. Investigates crashes, keeps bystanders out of danger, renders first aid, questions drivers and witnesses and prepares narrative reports of conditions and causes of crashes. Supervises removal of injured persons and vehicles to restore highway safety and normal traffic flow. Regularly conducts investigations of any crime or complaint within the patrol area; documents findings and enlists assistance if necessary.
