About This JobLSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry, Department of Oral Surgery is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Health Information Coordinator 1, 2 or 3. These positions are in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a (Health Information Coordinator 1, 2 or 3) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).

The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws. Duties and Responsibilities include but not limitedWill have knowledge of Health Information Coordinator duties. Receives and ensures that all referral paperwork submitted is processed. Enters all the patient data in Win OMS, Axium, and one drive. Advise patients on insurance specific guidelines and notify them of non-covered services. Collects payments from patient for services.
Completes encounter slips for billingSecure all payment depositsEnsures the scheduling of all follow up visitsAssists in reviewing accounts receivables and clearing out reports as neededAssists with obtaining medical clearance from outside medical doctors, track clearances assuring approval was received as needed. Communicates well with diverse population of patients, faculty, students, and staff. Schedule patient appointment including new, established, and referral visits to oral pathologist, speech pathologist, imaging, and any other therapy appointments. Provide doctors with any documents received that requires signature, then fax response back andscan documents. (Example of documents:
FMLA, disability paperwork, speech therapy, cancer rehab, home health, etc. )Assists with scanning all documents in patients charts especially pathology reports, hospital booking, medical clearance as needed. Assists with preparation of ordering any supplies as neededCommunicates and collaborates with Dental Program Coordinator regarding Implant patients andrepresentatives for hardware, implants, and materials. You must include all relevant work experience and education on your application.
