This position is responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair work on facility equipment and systems, ensuring all areas are safe, functional, and well-maintained in accordance with departmental standards. Minimum QualificationsTwo years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; ORCompletion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; ORTwelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses. Job Duties and Other Information Services, repairs, and maintains all equipment as assigned or in accordance with preventative maintenance program. Performs major repairs, safety inspections, and upgrades to a variety of building systems as assigned. Troubleshoots any equipment issues and determines the best course of action for completing the repair. Keeps records of all work and preventative maintenance tasks as directed. Oversees the work of subordinate repairers as assigned. Performs grounds upkeep and other general duties to ensure that all facilities are presentable and in line with departmental standards. Position-Specific Details: Physical Demands:

The physical demands described in the above duties are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Learned physical skill is required for proper safe lifting and material handling techniques. Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and material (70+) lbs. Must have the ability to drive and operate a truck, forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
