We’re looking for a Paralegal to join our Tax Policy and Planning Division to provide legal support by conducting research that will aide attorneys in developing policies and procedures!Minimum QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of an approved Paralegal or Legal Assistant program approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), or at an accredited college or university; ORPossession of a Certified Paralegal (CP) certification issued by the National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc. ; ORA Juris Doctorate. Note: Disbarred attorneys and those who have permanently resigned from the practice of law in lieu of discipline may not be hired in any position in connection with the practice of law.

Suspended attorneys or an attorney transferred to disability inactive status during the period of suspension may not be hired in any position in connection with the practice of law unless such hiring is first preceded by the submission of a fully executed registration statement to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, on a registration form provided by the Louisiana Disciplinary Board and approved by the Louisiana Supreme Court. Job Duties And Other InformationJob Duties: In This Role, You Will: Conduct legal research for attorneys finding and analyzing, legislation, statutes, and court decisions applicable to policy issues. Compile information related to legislative actions and other policy related matters Drafts letters, documents, and other correspondence by telephone on policy matters.

Compose memoranda and other correspondence to assist the attorneys in determining the proper application of the Department's rules and regulations on policy mattersPerform administrative duties related to policy issuance and special projects, including but not limited to issue tracking, time keeping and statistical case value trackingPosition-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Job Appointment, Detail to Special Duty or WAECompensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This Position Has a Special Entrance Rate (SER): The Paralegal 1 has a starting rate of: $19. 31/hourly; $1544. 80/biweekly.
