We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Specialist to join our Customer Service Division!This is a promotional posting open only to current permanent classified employees of the Louisiana Department of Revenue. Minimum QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Six semester hours in accounting, business, economics, finance, management, information systems management, or quantitative methods plus one of the following:

Five years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial settingSix years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; ORA bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; ORAn advanced degree or Juris Doctorate plus one year of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; ORPossession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law.

Experience Substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Research and resolve highly complex and technical issues concerning the various taxes administered by LDR, which require extensive knowledge of Louisiana laws, Internal Revenue Code and various state and local judicial decisions. Develop training material and conduct training as needed for Tax Analysts and Tax Specialists. Resolve taxpayer problems with respect to account registration errors, billing notices, return filings or other compliance requirements. Correct and adjust taxpayer accounts to reflect the correct tax data. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: PromotionalCompensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
