Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) is looking for StatisticianJob Description / ResponsibilityUnit Name: Health System Research DivisionReportable to: Director, Health System Research DivisionWork Station: CIPRB Head Office, DhakaPurpose of the PositionThe Statistician will be responsible for providing statistical expertise and support in research activities. This includes contributing to study design, developing data collection methods, performing data analysis, interpreting results, and assisting in the dissemination of findings. The incumbent will provide statistical support to all technical staff of the organization if and when required. However, s/he should work under the guidance of Director, Health System Research Division, CIPRB to ensure the scientific rigor and accuracy of all analytical outputs.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch Design and Methodological SupportContribute to the design of epidemiological and clinical studies, including sample size determination and development of statistical analysis plans.Advise on appropriate study designs, randomization procedures, and data collection strategies.Participate in the development and review of research protocols and grant proposals.Data Management and AnalysisClean, validate, and prepare datasets for analysis.Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using appropriate software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS).Develop and apply advanced statistical models (e.g., regression, survival analysis, mixed models).Ensure data quality assurance and reproducibility of analytical outputs.Reporting and DisseminationPrepare statistical sections of study reports, manuscripts, and presentations.Contribute to interpretation of results and drafting manuscripts for publication.Support preparation of policy briefs and research summaries for stakeholders.Capacity Building and CollaborationProvide technical support to the team members and mentorship to research assistants.Educational RequirementsMastersMaster’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related quantitative discipline.Additional RequirementsMinimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in applied statistics, preferably in health or social science research.Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Stata, or SPSS.Strong understanding of epidemiological and research methods.Demonstrated experience in data management and multivariate analysis.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.DesirableExperience working in public health setting.Familiarity with mixed-methods research.Publication record in peer-reviewed journals.Experience providing technical training or mentorship in data analysis.Deliverables and Performance IndicatorsTimely and high-quality statistical analyses for assigned projects.Completed and documented analysis plans and datasets.Contributions to manuscripts, reports, and policy briefs.Evidence of effective collaboration within research teams.Duration and ReportingThe initial appointment will be for one year with 3 months’ probation period. There is possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and project needs. The Statistician will report directly to the Director, the Health System Research Division, CIPRB.Job LocationDhakaSalaryTk. 56687 (Monthly)
